Batty For Bats!

Did you know a single bat can eat 1,000 bugs an hour? And bats are the only flying mammal? Some bats are carnivores. Meaning, they only eat meat in this case, BUGS! Some bats live in clusters in caves. And when I say clusters, I'm mean HUNDREDS of bats!!!!

Bats flutter when they fly. Bug eating bats us echolocation to find prey. Echolocation is a like a sonar. Dolphins also use echolocation. Grackles will sometimes eat bats.

Grackle

They do this by hitting their beaks on the bats head. This stuns a bat so the grackle can snatch it up.

Bats rule!
