The Amazing Pangolin!

Pangolins are one of Earth's most amazing animals! They have broken a few world records, too! For example, they have the boniest tail of all the mammals. And they are the only mammals with large keratin scales.



The pangolin's tongue can be as long as 16 inches! (40 cm) Holy pangolin!!! Pangolins are nocturnal, which means, they are only awake at night. The pangolin is born with soft keratin scales that harden as they mature. Speaking of scales, the scales on a pangolin's body are a defense tool. They can curl in a ball like an armadillo. If you really anger them, they can spray you like a skunk! Where are my dentures? The pangolin is toothless! (No, not the dragon.) Seriously, they have NO teeth! Even without teeth, the pangolin eats ants and other insects.
