Eight Helping Hands

Have you ever seen one of these crawling on the floor?

Well don't kill it! This is a grass spider. Grass spiders eat the pests you don't want. They eat insects like flies. They have poison but their fangs are too small to bite human skin. (You shouldn't hold them though...)

This is a grass spider web! The grass spider web isn't sticky, so it catches its prey by chasing it! Grass spiders are very fast. If you startle one, it will dash across the floor!

What has 8 eyes and legs, and is very helpful? The grass spider!
